Beautiful Lake Nacogdoches was impounded in 1976 and has a surface area of 2,212 acres at normal pool. The maximum depth of the lake is 40 feet. It is located on Loco Bayou, 10 miles west of Nacogdoches off FM 225.
The most popular game fish at Lake Nacogdoches is the largemouth bass. Numbers of bass are relatively high and an excellent fishery exists. Lake Nacogdoches is known for producing trophy-sized bass and has produced three ShareLunker entries exceeding 13 pounds.
Fall, winter, and spring months are when anglers are most successful at catching largemouth bass. Due to cooler water temperatures, fish are active for longer periods of the day and are typically found in shallow water.
