So, I journeyed out to Nacogdoches, Texas for a long overdue visit with an old friend. He set up a fishing trip on Lake Nacogdoches with the best Fishing Guide I've ever had the pleasure of fishing with: Stanley Gresham. IMHO a guides job is to put you 'on' the fish - and he did that in spades.

We decided to go after the wily crappie and we had a blast!

We caught fish all day. Speaking for myself: I probably missed about a dozen fish (my fault) and caught about 10 that were undersize - but the keepers were great fish and we brought home 19. Through it all Mr. Gresham was helpful and kept moving us from pile to pile and putting us 'on' the fish. His boat and the supplied fishing gear was first rate - but it was his knowledge of the Lake and just the fact he was a pleasure to fish with - that made the trip such a good time.

I am certain that there will be future visits to 'Nac' and they will include another fishing trip with Stanley Gresham. I recommend you do the same - you won't be disappointed.

What a day! This tour is fantastic, and Stanley was super knowledgable and helped us really enjoy our time catching 22 fish. Kay and Stanley are wonderful hosts. Highly recommend and will definitely visit again.

For my husband’s birthday this year nothing sounded good and knowing he got everything he could have ever possibly wanted when he married me it was tough to come up with a gift idea. Especially since it’s not just his birthday but our wedding anniversary and the anniversary of the day he adopted my daughter. He really enjoys fishing and being on the water but doesn’t get to go very often because of his work schedule. When I saw Mr. Gresham tag someone I know on Facebook because they had been fishing with him and brought home a mess of fish, I knew that’s what I was going to do for our Goff day this year. Mr. and Mrs. Gresham were both so accommodating and opened their home and boat to us. Mr. Gresham is so funny and made fishing fun. The weather turned out absolutely perfect, not as hot as we all expected late in July. Jake smiled and laughed a lot. We caught all but 5 fish from our 75 fish limit. Mrs. Gresham had a spread laid out for us when we came in off the water. Everything was so delicious. Mr. Gresham cleaned all of our fish and delivered them later that afternoon to us bagged and labeled. We had such a great experience and plan on going back.

Today my sister and I had an awesome crappie fishing experience with Stanley Gresham - Lake Nacogdoches Fishing Guide - that made up for our past TWO pitiful trips on another lake in East Texas! Stanley instructed us, guided us, and graciously extended his humorous hospitality all morning while we caught huge crappie and even a bass and a catfish! He extended the patience of Job and we are ready to book another trip with him soon! His wonderful wife Kay provided a scrumptious lunch with her homemade goodies and local produce! We truly feel we have made new friends for life! Thank you Stanley and Kay and we hope to see you soon!!

Today I got to do something I've done ver few times, I took my dad fishing. We had a blast. A huge thank you goes out to Stanley Gresham and his sweet wife Kay Gresham. We took a group of customers for a ½ day crappie outing this morning with Stanley Gresham, and had an amazing lunch afterwards provided by Kay. I can’t express what an amazing experience these guys provided for us. The fishing was outstanding, but the way they welcomed us into their home with 5-star customer service, was like nothing I have ever seen on a guided fishing trip. I am not one to give out reviews unless I am impressed. I just wanted to say that I have never had a more hospitable guide. So many times you get stuck with a guy who just does it for a living. Stanley was different. He has a clear passion and love for fishing. He is patient, kind, helpful and full of fun stories. He took the time to discuss all of the lake and the topography. As a guy who has fished all around, I love to hear about different lake features, why you fish them and why sometimes it just doesn't work out. He is not just a guide but an educator. We caught a lot of fish, mind you, but everything else he did is what made the trip. Me and my father-in-law were so impressed! And to boot, you cannot get a finer lunch and fellowship from Kay. I wish everyone could be so blessed to spend time with these folks. 110% satisfied.

I spent a wonderful day fishing with Stanley, today. The water was muddy after a couple of rainy days, but Stanley was able to find enough fish to make me happy. The conversation was fun, and the fish I caught were nice 'biguns'. I'll be looking forward to another trip with Stanley one of these days.

Hey guys and girls just wanted to let you know about my fishing trip with Stan on January 26, 2021. We started at daylight and fished until sunset. Best day of fishing I have ever experienced. Stan put me on fish right away and they bit all day long. From 2 lbs to 10.86 lbs for me and Stan even pulled in a 8.42 lbs. Can’t wait to go again. My son and I went on a guided trip with Stanley last week. We had a very enjoyable time catching bass and listening to Stanley's stories. I guarantee Stanley will try his hardest to put you where the fish are. He has fished lake Nacogdoches for many years and knows every creek channel, hump, brush pile and "honey hole" on the lake. Give him a try. You will not be disappointed! You might even get some of Kay's (his wife) world famous miniature chocolate chip cookies!!

Stanley Gresham has great knowledge of Lake Nacogdoches, was excellent in some of recommendations he made to me on how to fish this lake. Would highly recommend him as a guide, he really knows lake and conditions. Good Guy!

Great job Stanley! I have fished with lots of guides over the years and have never had a harder working or more knowledgeable guide than Stanley. I brought my college bound grandson for two days on Nac, he had a great time and learned a new method of fishing that he caught most of his fish on. Spring fishing can be tough when you get the weather against you but we had to stay with my grandsons schedule or not fish. Stanley adjusted to that and made a successful trip for us. Stanley is a good Christian man with a great work ethic who knows all the holes and stumps on the lake and will put you were the fish are safely.

Mr. Gresham, Thank you as well for putting up with us and certainly a hearty thank you for your stories (and your wife's cookies). Scott and I both had a blast, and that was not because of the 80mph wind. Great fishing for a while, but my brother and I are both experienced enough to know sometimes the weather can jump up and get you.
